Yesterday we discussed Calvary’s legacy in providing as a voice to call us all toward greater understanding of our shared humanity.
Today we are honored to remember our long-time Pastor Clarence Cranford (affectionately known here as Cranny). He made many public efforts at reconciliation including, as we learned yesterday, traveling to the Soviet Union to meet with persecuted Baptists and other Christian leaders.
Here in Washington, DC, Cranny joined with many others to march on the National Mall with Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (a Baptist pastor, by the way!). He shared his thoughts on the march in the District of Columbia Baptist Convention’s Capital Baptist, and you can read them here.
Thank you to DCBC for maintaining this important piece of our common heritage. We are thankful for all of our Calvary members, partners, and friends, and the opportunity to work alongside you as we continue to strive toward the Dream.
