Good Friday, March 30

Jesus’ Seven Last Words (6:30pm). We know that resistance and transformation is being (and historically has been) led by Black women. We are thrilled to be led by the lives and voices of Black women as we celebrate a tradition in the historic Black Church Tradition.

The First Word: Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. Luke 23:34 – Ms. Brooke Davis, M.T.S., M.P.A.

The Second Word: Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise. Luke 23:43 – Minister Christian Brown, M.Div.

The Third Word: Woman, here is your son. Son, here is your Mother. John 19:26-27 – Ms. Aryn Davis, M.Ed.

The Fourth Word: My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Matthew 27:46 – Mrs. Lauren Zehyoue, M.A.

The Fifth Word: I thirst. John 19:28 – Ms. Salima Appiah-Duffell, M.L.S.

The Sixth Word: It is finished. John 19:30 – Reverend Monica Raines, M.Div.

The Last Word: Father, into your hands I commend my spirit. Luke 23:46 – Reverend DeAnna Evans, J.D., M.Div.
