You might not know this (What? How could you not?), but we love to celebrate around here. There are few things we love more than the rituals of food and fellowship, and Advent/Christmas, of course, provide the perfect backdrop for a little holiday cheer.
So each year, the Latino Fellowship hosts its annual Christmas Gala. The whole congregation and community is invited to worship and then partake in Roberto Reyes and crew’s delicious dinner. We also collect a special offering, which this year benefited Shalom Baptist Church’s Cinco Panes, Dos Pesces program. This year, dinner guests donated more than $1,300 to provide meals for children living in impoverished areas of San Salvador. Thank you, everyone!
We also sang a beautiful, candle/glo lite-lighted rendition of “Noche de Paz,” and Pastor Edgar presented a special gift to chef Roberto Reyes for his hard work in heading up the kitchen crew for so many of our Calvary events. He also gave the award for being Carol and Rick Blythe-Goodman to Carol Blythe and Rick Goodman in honor of their outstanding support of the Latino Congregation. Our gracious chefs also baked delicious sweet breads for each attendee’s Christmas present.
We have some more great photos coming soon, but in the meantime, here’s a quick look at some of last night’s festivities:
