Don’t Tell Anyone (No Le Digas A Nadie) screening

Sojourners hosts this screening and discussion of the critically-acclaimed documentary “Don’t Tell Anyone (No Le Digas A Nadie).” In an environment where silence is often seen as necessary for survival, 24 year-old Angy Rivera steps out of the shadows to share her parallel journey of being undocumented and sexually abused, an ordeal all too common in her community. Don’t Tell Anyone (No Le Digas a Nadie) follows immigrant activist Angy’s personal story from poverty in rural Colombia to the front page of The New York Times as she becomes a beacon in a movement for national change.

Following the film, Pastor Maria will moderate a short Q&A time with Angy Rivera (featured in the film) and Silvana Arista, the attorney & project coordinator at CLINIC Legal. The panel will explore the intersection of immigration reform, survivor advocacy, and how people of faith are getting involved. Spanish subtitles provided for the film.

This film and discussion could not be more relevant for our times: DACA is under fire, the Violence Against Women Act is facing reauthorization, and hundreds of churches are signing up all over the country to join the Sanctuary movement. Find a trailer for the film and discussion guide at sojo.net/media/don-t-tell-anyone-no-le-digas-nadie-trailer. Please RSVP on Facebook if you plan to attend.
